Shoku Izakaya, Banff

Banff’s first Izakaya restaurant serves a mixture of traditional and modern Japanese fare. This commercial space was newly acquired prior to construction and required a renovation. The ACS team was hired as Construction Manager. The existing bar was upgraded using dark Japanese-inspired finishes. The focal point of this restaurant construction project is the eye-catching, extensive millwork covering the entire ceiling space. The exposed natural wood was not designed on a level plain, but instead, a wave. A dark wall finishes the bar area, and a surrounding wall features a brightly coloured mural with Koi Karp fish.
